What is included in the price of the workshop?

All workshops include a companion Choice Literacy DVD (valued at up to $229), snack breaks, and an extensive folder of print resources. All additional costs (travel, housing, and meals) are the responsibility of the participants.

Where do I send my registration and payment?

You can pay online with a credit card, or you can fax your registration form and purchase order to 207-433-1012. If you are paying by check, you can mail your registration form and check to Choice Literacy; P.O. Box 790; Holden, ME 04429.
 

When will I receive a confirmation that you've received my workshop registration?

Confirmations are usually sent within one business day to the email address provided on your registration. If your registration is being forwarded through your school or district's business office, you will want to check in and make sure they forward the registration and payment to us promptly. We have had many teachers disappointed in the past when their local business offices have delayed sending in registrations, only to have the event sell out before the form was processed in the district business office.

How do we enroll a large team of teachers from our school in a Choice Literacy Workshop?

The online credit card registration form is for individual registrations only. For larger teams, please download the registration form and fax or mail your registration with payment. Please note - schools and districts are limited to no more than 12 participants per workshop so that we can serve as many schools and districts as possible in each region.


What is your refund policy?

If you are unable to attend and request a refund at least 30 days before the workshop event, you will receive a full refund for the workshop. No refunds are issued within 30 days of the event, unless the event is sold out and we are able to fill your slot with someone from the waiting list. Those who are unable to attend are mailed a copy of the workshop materials and DVD.

We have a large team coming to one of your workshops. Is it possible to exchange some of the DVDs we are receiving for others in the Choice Literacy catalogue?

Yes! You are welcome to exchange the DVD that comes with your workshop with any other DVD in the Choice Literacy catalogue. This option has helped many previous teams build a professional development library of DVDs.

Can I pay for the conference with a school or district purchase order?

We accept purchase orders, checks, or credit cards for payment. To pay with a purchase order or check, download the registration form for your workshop by clicking on the purchase order/check link. The registration form includes instructions for payment.

The workshop I want to enroll in is listed as SOLD OUT. Can I be placed on a waiting list?

You can contact us through the Choice Literacy home site (www.choiceliteracy.com) to request a place on our waiting list, but we have to warn you that slots rarely open up in sold out workshops. Your best bet is to sign up for an alternative location that still has openings.

Do you offer graduate or recertification credit for your workshops?

We do not offer graduate or recertification credits. We do provide a certificate of attendance listing contact hours for each workshop or online course.

Can I reserve a slot in a workshop before forwarding payment?

We can only reserve a slot for you if you include a check or purchase order with your payment, or pay online with a credit card. Because many of our workshops do sell out weeks (or even months) in advance, we require payment to reserve slots. It's the only fair way to enroll participants.

What is Choice Literacy's Federal Tax ID?

Choice Literacy is an S-Corporation, with a Federal Tax ID of 20-4692493.

How do we book one of your workshops or presenters for an event at our school?

We're sorry, but we don't provide on-site workshops for schools or districts, or a booking service for our presenters. You will need to contact them directly through their individual websites or book publishers.

What housing is available for the workshops?

When we receive your registration, we will forward a confirmation that includes either a discount code for the hotel where the workshop takes place, or a list of recommended hotels in the area. Please note that room blocks are limited, with discount rates expiring when the block is filled or one month before the workshop event - whichever comes first.
